This project reinterprets the work songs of the Haenyeo, the female free divers of Jeju Island, through a digital and physical system. The traditional call and response structure is translated into an algorithmic dialogue between two HTML based entities using a Markov chain, allowing the songs to evolve continuously over time as form of living memory.
